Vacation. See holiday.

Vaccinate. He v. him; od-ahtuhwaun mahmáhkezewin, v.t.11.

Vagabond. See rogue.

Vagrant. He is a v.; kewahdeze, v.n.3, (p.c. kah-).

Vain (in vain); uhnesháh. He tries in vain; áhnunwáweze, v.n.3.

Valley. There is a v; puhsúhdenah, v.i.1, (p.c. pas-).

Valuable. See precious.

Value. He v. him, it; od-ahpeetánemaun, od-ahpeetándaun, v.t.I., VII. He v. him, it, at so much; od-ahpeetuhgemaun, od ahpeetuhgindaun, v.t.I., VII. (p.c. apee-). He, it, is of such value; enúhginso, enúhginda, v.n.4, v.i.2, (p.c. an-).

Vanish. It vanishes; aungóomuhgud, v.i.8, (p.c. uhyaun-). See disappear, fog.

Vanquish. See overcome.

Vapour; n.i. ahwún.

Variegated. It is v. (stuff, &c.); ketuhgegud. (geze-), v.i.7, See print.

Vat. Same as tub or cistern.

Vault. See jump, collar.

Venerable. He is v.; kechetwahwandáhgooze, v.n.3, (p.c. kach-).

Venerate. See respect.

Venereal disease. He has a v. d.; máhnáhduhpená, v.n.2.

Vengeance; n.i. ahzheduhwahewawin, He vows v. on him; od-ahzhedújwuhmaun, v.t.I. (p.c. uhyauzh-).

Venison; n.i. wahwaushkáshewe-weeyaus. Slice of dried v. buhnezhahwaun, (pl. -un).

Venomous. He is v. (e.g., a snake) mahnáhdeze, v.n.3, (p.c. muhyah-).

Venture (dare). Generally expressed by pooch (at any rate) with the future tense-thus: He will venture to go in; pooch tah-pindega. Or (2) by the neg. of afraid.

Venturesome. See bold.

Verandah; n.i. tasuhegun, uhgahwahtaëgun.

Verdict; n.i. tebahkoonegáwin.

Verily; adv. kagat.

Vermifuge. See worms.

Vermillion (red clay); n.a. onáhmaun.

Vile. He is v. (impure); weenandah gooze, -dahgwud, v.i.10, (p.c. wah-).

Village. Same as town. See live in.

Villain. See rogue, robber.

Violent. See struggle.

Violently; adv. múshkuhwe-, oojáhneme-. Violin; it. i. nauzhahbeëgun, (pl. -un).

Virgin; n.i. kegáungooqua, (pl. -g).

Virginal. She is in a v. (maiden) state; tásuhnuhquáwe, v.n.3, (p.c. tuhya-). He is in a v. state; tásuhnuhwe.

Virginity; n.i. tásuhnuhwewin.

Virtue; n.i. meno-ezhewábezewin.

Virtuous. He is v.; meno-ezhewábeze, v.n.3.

Visible. He, it is v.; wahbumenáhgooze, -nahgwud, v.i.10, (wuhyah-). He, it, is scarcely v.; náhwenáhgooze, -náhgwud, v.i.10, (p.c. nuhyah-).

Vision; n.i. wazhebáhbundumoowin, (pl. -un). Apparition; mahmáunsenuhmoowin, (pl. -un). He has a v. (good); wazhebáhbundum, v.n.5, (p. c wuhyazh-). He has a v., sees an apparition (evil); mahmáunsenum, v.n.5 (p.c. mam-). He has such a v.; ezhenum.
