Jacket; n. i. puhpésekuhwáhgun, kishkejeweyaun, (pl. -un).

Jagged (notched). It is j.; kechegezhegáhda, v. i. 9, (p. c. kache-).

Jam (preserves); paushkemenáhsegun. He makes jam; paushkemenáhsega, v. n. 2, (p. c. puhy-).

January; muhnedoo-keezis, (spirit-moon).

Jar. See jug.

Jaundice. He has j.; osúhwenáze, v. n. 3.

Jaw; n. a. My, thy, his j.; nin-, ke-, od-úhmekun.

Jaw-bone. My, thy, his jaw-b.; nin-, ke-, od-úhmekegun.

Jay; pequúkooquawáshe, teendese, (pl. -yag).

Jealous. He is j.; káhwa, v. n. 2, (p. c. kuhyah-). He is j. about her (or him); o-káhwanemaun, v. t. I. He is j. for him; o-káhwatuhwaun, v. t. II. See envious.

Jealousy; n. i. káhwawin. Jelly; n. i. kahzekobegénuhming paushkemenésegun.

Jerk. He j. it; chasekah ogaunjewabuhaun.

Jest. See joke.

Jew; n. a. Jew, (pl. -yug).

Jewel; kache-ahpetandáhgoozid ahsín. (pl. -eeg).

Joist (for an upper floor); uhgwuhwáhnauk, (pl. -oog).

Joke. He j. (tells j.); paupaúpinwa, wahweyaúzhetáhgooze, v. n. 2, 3, (p. c. pap-, waw-). He is joking; paupaúpenese, v. n. 3. He acts in a joking way; oombáuzheze, v. n. 3, (p. c. wamb-). In j.; uhneshah chepahping.

Jolly. He has a j. face; pahpáupingwa, v.n. 2, (p. c. puhyaup-).

Joy; n. i. moojegézewin, oonáhnegóozewin, pahpenándumoowin, menuhwáhnegoózewin.

Joyful. He is j.; moojegeze; menuhwahnegooze, oonahnegooze, pahpenandum, v.n. 3, 5, (p. c. mwau-, man-, wan-,puhyau-).

Judge; tebáhkoonega-wenéne, (pl. -wug).

Just. Just that; mamwach: e. g., Just you ought to go (not others); mamwach kenuhwah kedah-ezhaum.

Just at the moment, just now, just so; -nuhetáh: e. g., It just happens so; nuhetáh-ezhewabud. He comes just at the moment (when least or most wanted); nuhetáh noongoom pe-duhgwíshin. See arrive.

Just (only just); pecheénug: e. g., He has only just come in; pecheénug ke-pindéga.
